LinkedIn text formatter
Type your post, select the words that should stand out, and apply bold, italic, monospace, underline or strikethrough. These are look-alike Unicode characters, not real formatting, so use them sparingly.
How it works
- 01
Type your post
Write or paste your post. You can keep editing it between styles.
- 02
Select and style
Select a few words and pick a style. With nothing selected, the style applies to the whole text. Plain text takes the styling off again.
- 03
Copy it into LinkedIn
Copy the text and paste it into your LinkedIn post. The styled letters are ordinary characters, so they paste like any other text.
What you get
- Bold, italic, bold italic, monospace, underline and strikethrough, on a selection or on the whole post.
- A new style replaces the old one, and Plain text gives you your original letters back.
- A live character count beside your draft.
- Free, no signup, and nothing you type is sent to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Is this real bold and italic?
No. The styled letters are look-alike characters from the Unicode mathematical alphabets, not formatting that LinkedIn applies. They look bold or italic because those characters are drawn that way.
Will screen readers and search handle styled text?
Not reliably. Screen readers may skip these characters or read them out as symbols, and search may not match them with the plain letters, so a styled word can be missed. Use styling on a few words, never on a whole post or on words you want people to find.
Which characters get styled?
Bold, italic, bold italic and monospace style the letters A to Z and keep the accents on accented Latin letters. Bold and monospace also style the digits 0 to 9. Italic has no digits, so numbers stay as they are, and bold italic uses the bold digits. Letters without a styled form, such as the German sharp s, are left alone, and so are emoji and other writing systems. Underline and strikethrough add a line to every character except emoji and line breaks.
Is my text stored anywhere?
No. Styling happens in your browser when you click. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and nothing is saved.
